Laura Macrì was born in a small Sicilian sleepy town called Serradifalco (Italy). Renowned opera singer, Yva Barthélémy noticed Laura’s talent and invited her to move to Paris to take her under her wing and guide her.
At the age of 20, Laura performed in her very first major opera Boheme.
Right after she performed as Frasquita (Carmen) in the Petruzzelli Theatre, conducted by the legendary maestro Lorin Maazel at one of his last performances, and as Barbarina in Nozze di Figaro at Theatre Massimo in Catania.
She has toured all over the world performing several times together with Andrea Bocelli and with the ensemble Div4s (2013-2014). With Bocelli, Laura performed at renowned venues such as:
MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, US Airway Centre in Phoenix,Verizon Center in Washington, St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Phillis Arena in Atlanta, Atlas Arena in Lodz, Palace Square in St. Petersburg, Lanxess Arena in Cologne, National Stadium in Lima, Paseo Cayala in Guatemala City, Mexico City Arena, Movistar Arena in Santiago de Chile, Sala Palatului in Bucharest, Papp Laszlo Sport Arena in Budapest, Nokia Concert Hall in Tallin & Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall in China.
Laura has worked with great opera singers such as Yva Barthélémy, Ines Salazar, Rolando Panerai, Elizabeth Norberg Schultz . She was one of the winners of the international competition Illica Opera Stage, of Pietro Mongini in Ispra where she won the 1st prize, the award for Youngest Finalist and the Audience Award.
In early 2016, Laura signed a record deal with Decca for a project called Duetto and was selected to be part of Pavarotti Foundation.
